1st Contact teaching workshop, 23. - 27. 5. 2022
The participants met at the campus of Diak (Diaconia University of Applied Sciences) in Helsinki. Diak is one of the partners in the programme which lasts a little more than a year. One of the participants, Rita from Latvia, writes:
“The first contact week in Finland has ended. We have had four sessions a day, with lectures, group work and presentations. It was great to have different speakers on different topics and to have a chance to speak ourselves and share our thoughts and experiences on youth work through our own personal biographies.
During the week 16 participants from Ukraine, Latvia, Hungary, Armenia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Belarus, Slovakia, Italy, and Finland had the opportunity to get to know each other and to share our experiences, to see different approaches and see how it differs from the organisation that we work or volunteer in.
For experienced ones the new methods were useful and for youth who up till now have been just volunteer in youth work, it was a brand new and important information. We are looking forward for the continuing of the project online, face to face and in life!”
The week was led by Senior Lecturer Oksana Prosvirnina and Learning Supervisor Anete Ankmane, along with Jouko Porkka and other contributors from interdiac partner organisations. The next workshop will be in the Autumn in Italy. Make Change Yourselves: Turning Challenges to Your Advantage! project is supported by the European Union Erasmus+ Programme.
